My name is Lindsay and I am a transgender girl.
I was born with a mental condition known as gender identity disorder. This means that I was born with physical male characteristics (mainly the genitals) but with a female brain. It is not possible, yet, to detect the gender identity of a new born baby because gender identity is inscribed in one's brain and may or may not necessarily correspond with the genitals. Some people have called transsexuals as a rare kind of intersex persons due to the difference between the genitalia and gender identity.
